Warrior Runes...Do or Don't? Attribute Runes...advantages or disadvantages?
Hey Yall
I was wondering if it would be a better, or bad idea to use attribute runes on your armor...? I was thinking of this configuration for my armor Helmet = Platemail 85 + Minor Rune of Strength Chest = Platemail 85 + Superior Rune of Absorption Gauntlets = Platemail 85 + Minor Rune of Swordsmanship Leggings = Platemail 85 + Superior Rune of Vigor Boots = Platemail 85 + Minor Rune of Tactics Is this the best configuration to use? Or should Major/Superior Attribute Runes be used...even though they ar (-50/75) Health Each? Post your configuration, opinions,etc... |

For PvE, that would be perfect, however, i'd use Ascalon's helm and rest would be gladiators armor, doesn't matter that much. If it's pvp though, go with a Superior rune + a helm that boosts your weapon.

PvE = player versus environment
PvP = player versus player |

Yes - the negative 75 health penalty is not worth the benefit in PvE, unless you know that you're going to be partying with VERY competent monks.

By the way, switch out either the gloves or boots in your armor for Knights - it will give you overall -2 damage reduction.

What ever your weapon of choice is, use the +weapon helm. I throw a superior weapon rune on the helm for +4 to the weapon skill. This is done regardless of PvP and PvE. Go sup run for absorption and vigor, minor strength, minor tactics. If you go hammer, use stone gauntlets and knight's boots. If you go another weapon, go knight's gloves, your boots of choice.
I choose to always go 16 in the weapon. |

my pvp build makes it fine in pve
sup strength, axe, absorbtion, and vigor minor tactics kights boots, axe helm, glad rest also you can switch the sup strength for sup tactics and swap the minors as well if your build is better that way (possibly even the tactics helm....ive run a stance build before) |

I've never had problems with my character, a 20 W/Mo with the following:
Platemail Head/Chest Knights boots/gloves Gladiators Leggings In the Helm, is my swords, it's a minor. In the Chest, is my vigor, a major. In the Boots is my tactics, a superior. In the gloves is my axe mastery, a minor. In my Leggings is my Strength, a minor. ^^ The vigor helps to offset my superior <and my axe grip on my chaos is a +30hp> so it offsets. I wouldn't suggest using a whole lot of runes that go -hp, as a tank you'll want as much as you can go for. and Remember, it doesn't really matter where you place runes. They are global. Not local. They work on a whole. Most people get confused, and the old myths like "Put absorption in chest, because chest takes alot of hits!" WRONG. It's global, the abs works overall, on each piece, regardless of what takes the hit. Hope this helped. --The Shim |

you can save yourself some cash in PVE if you go with a major absorbtion instead of sup unless u already have one. the dmg reduction difference isnt going to kill you, just your wallet.
My w/mo Duelist helm w/ major swords glads chest w/ major absorb glads legs w/ minor tactics glads arms w/ minor stregnth glads feet w/ major vigor Reason for majors instead of sups 1) its only pve 2) i saved about 150k and didnt lose but a very small fraction of what the sups can give 3) its only pve Last edited by Yichi; Nov 08, 2005 at 03:16 PM // 15:16.. |

Oh noes!! Efficient and oogly!
My armor settings are the 'ultimate' blend to provide both good versatility, great defense, no "skirt" look, and magic defense potential. Since it uses one of each type of armor set [almost], I call it my [pV] Chimera Armor.
Collectors Executioner Helm of Superior Axe Mastery Wyvern Hauberk of Minor Absorption (working on sup. absorption) - dragon aspect Platemail Leggings of Superior Vigor - steel aspect Stonefist Gauntlets of Minor Tactics (for switching to hammer if needed) - demon aspect Ascalon Boots of Minor Strength - beast aspect I'd like to get 15k versions of all of my armor [save the collector's helm, since there doesn't seem to be a 15k version of it from the lists I've seen] ack* So my warrior is a short, blond-haired, asian guy who looks part dragon, knight, beast, and sports demon claws using a shade of green that's impossible to get by mixing regular dyes... [yes, Incredible Hulk Jade green... lol ] |
